SBSCH Closing 30 June 2026: What to Do Before You Lose Access

If you use the ATO’s Small Business Superannuation Clearing House, time is almost up. The SBSCH closes on 30 June 2026.

After that date, you cannot log in. You cannot pay super through it. You cannot view your past records either.

Here is what you need to do before then.

What Is Actually Closing

The SBSCH is the ATO’s free service for paying employee super. It lets you pay multiple super funds in one transaction.

More than 200,000 small businesses use it. From 30 June 2026, none of them will be able to.

This closure is tied to Payday Super. The SBSCH was built for quarterly payments. It cannot support the new system, where super must be paid every pay cycle.

There Is No Grace Period

Many business owners assume there will be some flexibility after the deadline. There is not.

Once the SBSCH closes, access ends immediately. There is no extension, and no way to retrieve a missed payment through the old system.

If you currently pay super quarterly, this matters even more. The April to June payment is due on 28 July. You cannot use the SBSCH to make that payment once it closes.

Your Three Replacement Options

Your existing payroll software. Many platforms now include built-in super payment features. Check what your current system already offers.

Your default super fund. Many super funds offer their own clearing house service for employers.

A commercial clearing house. These often charge a fee, unlike the SBSCH, but may offer more flexibility.

Whichever option you choose, test it before the deadline. Do not wait until the last week of June to find out it is not working properly.

Do Not Skip This Step

Before you lose access, download your records. This includes payment history and employee fund details.

Once the SBSCH closes, this information disappears with it. You may need these records later for audits or employee queries.

Log in now. Download what you need. Do not leave this until the final days.

Frequently Asked Questions
